Camping
Four relatively mild seasons and beautiful countryside make Carter
County ideal for any kind of camping. Everything from fully developed
areas with weekend campground programs to primitive sites are available.
Except where otherwise designated, dispersed camping is allowed
along the Appalachian Trail and on most U.S. Forest Service property.
Campgrounds located in Carter County do not take reservations and
are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Occupying a site
is limited to a 14-day period.
